In the beginning there was darkness
Jack Stack got started on the web around 2001. They soon wanted to be found in the search engines so they could do what they do best; sell the best dang barbecue there is! They got a site setup and dove right in. They were a client of the firm where I worked before I came on and SEO progress was slow before I got there. When I arrived and started to work on their site, things started really taking off.
This little light of mine…
I started working on the Jack Stack BBQ site shortly after I started working at the firm. At the beginning, it was just me doing the SEO for them. I worked through the site applying a set of SEO best practices. I optimized meta tags, HTML, images, links etc. I launched a linking campaign that increased the number of links to the site. On top of that I got to write content that constantly made me hungry for their awesome BBQ. Good thing they were right down the street!

After a couple of years worth of work, Jack Stack BBQ was the number one retailer of BBQ on the net. They sold and shipped more meats and BBQ products than any other retailer online. It wasn’t all thanks to my SEO efforts, their products really are top-notch. You can order a full-fledged BBQ to be delivered to you anywhere in the continental US! My sister threw a genuine Kansas City Barbecue at her house… in Sacramento California.
